niknotes: Last night, as Jack was reading A Chair for My Mother, specifically the part where the little girl tells how her apartment and all her furniture burned up in a fire and describes how they painted the walls yellow in their new apartment, he told me that if his apartment burned up, he would build a new one.  (By the way, he plans to live in a big apartment in downtown Cincinnati when he grows up; with his wife Brittany, the girl next door who is 12 or 13 years old now; with their four children, quadruplets actually, whom he has named Toby, Thomas, Alicia, and Annie; and several pets.)  And he said after he rebuilt their apartment, he would paint flowers on the walls, and then he paused and asked, "Does Brittany like flowers?"
