Field Trip -- "Dig It" -- field trip
dealing w/ geology. Talked about earth -- layers, hardness, etc. of
earth. Types of rocks. Classified rocks by type & color, by
sifting through dirt. Then tested for hardness by scraping w/ paper
clips. Tested for organic & inorganic. Tested for limestone
w/vinegar.
Very very cool lesson!! [smiley]
FYI - Jack brought home his rock samples. There are
worksheets in his folder. Can cut out the name of ea. rock (there are 12)
& glue on inside lid of egg carton & separate his samples to start a
rock collection.
Other -- Art next Thurs. the kids
will be print making. It will be messy! Dress down!

Thank you for keeping us up-to-date on Sean. My boys
(15 & 14) really thought the photos were cool, but they were kind of scary
too. He sounds in good spirits.
I was telling Sue G. (the art teacher) about Sean's
experiences. She would love to be on the e-mail list or I can forward them
from me. I told her I would have to ask you first. She totally
understands if you would rather not have her on the list. [smiley]
