niknotes: I asked Jack what verbs are and he sang,
"It's what's happening!" from the Schoolhouse Rock video and then said, "Action!
They're action!"
Last night, Jack volunteered the information that Jaret
rides his bus! Jaret is a third grader this year so no longer in Ms.
Penoncello's class, but I'm glad that Jack still acknowledges him.
Jack's written homework was to write three interesting
facts from the Guinea Pig book which he first read aloud to me. He
wrote:
1. Guinea pigs are born with teeth.
2. They allso come in colors.
3. All guinea pigs are called cavies.
I thought the last fact was quite interesting
myself. I didn't know that. They're of the genus Cavia, as
I just discovered in my dictionary.
Jack just impressed me with his independence. Mick
had left his apple juice cup on the kitchen floor, and Jack accidentally kicked
it over when he was announcing, "Mama, I found a Fuji apple!" He quickly
apologized for knocking over the juice. I handed him two paper towels,
which he found insufficient. I was typing the above so didn't know that
until I turned around again and saw that Jack had run upstairs to grab a bath
towel to soak up the rest of the juice. What a good boy. Now, I
hear him in the living room, crunching through that Fuji
apple.
