Teacher Comments: Jack did not need the $5. He
brought a sack lunch from school.
I am glad that you came to Special Olympics. We
enjoyed your company. [smiley]
niknotes: I'll ask Jack to tell us about his field
trip to Fernbank museum. He claims Lewis and Clark were not in the
movie. He told me about other stuff he saw, too, on our way to Mick's eye
appointment right after school today. For one thing, Jack said that he
rode the bus, but it was a little bus with just enough room for Jack, Mrs.
Penoncello, Mrs. Avitabile, and the driver. I don't know why they didn't
just take a car, then. It must have really been a big bus because it was
for half the first-grade classes. The other half went yesterday, I
think. Anyway, he seemed to have enjoyed it a lot.
jacknotes: I saw a white tornado in a glass, and it
was not a snowy tornado. It was a wet tornado. And a scientist
showed you how it formed. Sometimes it disappears when you're trying to
see it. If you're already seeing it, then it's all big now. Davin
always says, "Tuh-nado." It makes me laugh.
I saw my eye. It was blue with light green
freckles in it. I saw it through a metelescope, to see your eye and make
it big, very, very big. Davin's eyes were brown, but Ryan's eyes were
green. And Aaron's eyes were blue, like my eyes. He had no freckles
in his eyes. I'm the only one who has freckles in my eyes.
I did not see the IMAX movie. The IMAX movie had
Indians in it. The Indians fed everybody watermelons. And it
even had buffaloes and bears in it. It had the flight in it. It made
me feel scared. It made me fly too much fast, and then I crash-landed on a
strange ocean. It did not really crash. It just felt like it.
I was imagining it.
niknotes (part 2): Well, that's all we'll get from
Jack. Mick came into the kitchen with the "quilt" wrapped around him, and
I said he looked like a king. Jack immediately took the comforter from
Mick and wrapped it around his own shoulders and began singing the Cowardly
Lion's song: "If I were king of the forest, not queen, not prince, not
duke ..." He actually said, "Not juke." Mick was not
upset by the usurpation because he sat on the train of Jack's cloak and got
dragged halfway across the floor.
