** Jack was having a wonderful day in P.E. until
Davin made a basket before Jack did. (10 minutes before class ended)
I was so proud of him before that, they were really having fun
together!
niknotes: Almost the first thing Jack said after he
got home today was, "I'm hungry just the same." He wanted a blueberry
yogurt and a bowl of chicken noodle soup. I had just bought twelve cans of
chicken noodle soup yesterday at K-Mart and discovered that Kroger had an even
lower sale price today so I bought another dozen or so. Jack loves chicken
noodle soup. He believes in its healing properties, and particularly in
the ability of the carrots to keep his eyes from aging (that's how he puts
it).
By the way (what way is that? health and fitness?), karate
went better than smoothly last night. Jack had a great time. He was
very focused, and he jumped up and down laughing hysterically several times when
Mr. LePage and his assistant demonstrated techniques and what might happen if
you were to let your guard down or not follow through (I can't hear most of
what's said, because even though there are observation benches inside the
studio, Mick and I -- and usually all the other parents and siblings, actually
-- watch through a large window). The demonstrations included lots of
kicks and strikes leading up to one or the other demonstrator taking a
dive. The class really seems to be so much fun. And Jack seems to
have made a friend, named Alex!
