niknotes: I bet Jack will miss the safety
unit. He has been telling us all about the tornado and fire drills and
that you can call a tornado a "twister" or a "cyclone" too. He has also
told us about a germy boy named Carlisle, who I hope is from a story and not
another class. He did claim to have hurt his (left) leg during the fire
drill by having to stand like a statue in the parking lot. He demonstrated
the posture for me and was the cutest statue ever, feet together, arms by his
side, with such a stony expression on his face. I don't think he really
hurt his leg at all, but I expressed appropriate concern nonetheless. He
was, however, an excellent big brother this morning, calmly boarding his bus
with a smile (a smile!) since I had asked him to try to set a good example for
Mick so he wouldn't be afraid on his first day as a bus rider. Thank you,
Jack!
