Classroom Activity -- Participation/Behavior
 
Language Arts --  making predictions sheet; initial consonants f & g; DOL sentences
Math -- Ms. Robertson -- worksheet (see paper); small group BINGO - double digit recognition -- did super [smiley].  He seems to do better with small group.  *see below [smiley] (It's good!)
 
Math-- Their final activity was an animal cracker Math game.  There was a lot of directions & it went quickly.  It was done in a small group.  He did great!!  Did it all correctly & was able to keep up.  See paper -- he can tell you what they did.
 
As a side note (ha - literally!), sometimes kids shy away from "our" kids but the kids in Ms. Robertson's class really genuinely like Jack!  Want to sit next to him, etc [smiley]
Handwriting --  morning sentences [smiley]
Calendar --  date, day sequence & month, "Yesterday, I...," month sequence, vocab words, coin value, place value
Social Skills --  How to answer phone when mom and dad aren't home.  Role play.  colored a worksheet.
Unit -- Talked about washing hands/germs.  Watched good hygiene video.  Practiced good hand washing.
Special    --  Centers -- rock wall climb, koosh ball throw & roll, basketball, hula hoop, rope climbing, badminton, scooping toss -- [smiley] Centers can be a source of frustration for him; he did great!!!
Lunch -- chocolate milk, roll, spaghetti.  Did not want fruit & green beans.
Outside -- track & climbers
Other --  [smiley] Surprise fire drill -- Nice job!
 
Teacher Comments: Tomorrow is show & tell.
 
niknotes:  I'm so relieved Jack did better in math class today -- even if it was due to the small groups.  And I'm glad the other kids like him. 
Aw, he just asked, "Where's Amelia?"  And when I explained that we could see her Sunday morning before she flies back home to Germany, he said, "Ooh, I don't want that to happen.  I thought she was just going to live in America.  They want to live in America, not in Germany anymore."
 
jacknotes:  What happens if I see some wind twisting over there?  It could be a tornado, but I will make it suck itself up.  Stay inside and go into your basement where there are no windows.  I'm not scared, because tornadoes are destructive, but I am brave.
