[Letter from Mrs. Robertson]:
Friday, September 27, 2002
Mr. and Mrs. Dullaghan
Dear Parents,
Due to the variance in reading
levels of first grade children, the Accelerated Reader program has been modified
to better meet the needs of our students. Children must be able to read an
Accelerated Reader book and answer questions on the computer
independently. The purpose of this program for first graders is to enrich
and challenge those students reading above grade level. Because not all
first graders will be participating in this program, students will not be
purchasing items from the Accelerated Reader store.
Your child is now successfully
reading and comprehending at a level 18. He/she is now eligible to
participate in the Accelerated Reader program. This is an optional program
and we must have your signature in order for your child to participate.
Please sign and return the bottom portion of this letter to your child's
teacher.
Sincerely,
First Grade Teachers
J.C. Magill Elementary
niknotes: Yea for Jack! I hope he'll like
it. I didn't really understand the part about an Accelerated Reader
store. Oh, well, I'm signing the permission slip
anyway.
