After the boys got home from school today, Cindy brought baby Jessica
Marie Starke over here and Jack almost immediately asked Cindy, "Do you have two
breasts?" She handled it quite matter-of-fact-ly. I don't think
there were any follow-up questions. That was all. And Jack loved her
baby, said just that, in fact. Mick called her "Kate" and would not be
corrected. He wasn't into the visit much, mostly wanted to play on the
porch and then "Buzz 'ight 'ear Computer," but he was all for waving and calling
"Goodbye! Bye! Goodbye!" when Cindy drove away home.
Jack missed only the good-byes and asked, "Where'd they go?"
Well, we have another book to read and a Speech activity,
and it's already 7:30, almost. Let me ask Jack if he has anything to add
to today's Jack report.
jacknotes: (What did you do in Art today?)
I created a clown. The clown had a red shirt, and he was feeling
happy. He had bangs on his hair, not like in bang you go like this "BANG!"
but bangs like this [indicating forehead]. That's all.
(And in Reading, did you play a game with another
student? Can you tell me about that?) I won the first time.
(What was his name?) Nitchell. (Nitchell?)
Mmm-hmmm. And he said I had a long last name, 'cause my last name is
kind of extra. And I won first place. I played "make-believe and
real." You pick a card and then you read it, and then you move.
(Well, what does that have to do with being real or
make-believe?) Nothing. Mama, will you please get out
of the computer?
