niknotes: Good start! When I dropped Mick off at his new school this morning, he didn't
cry, but he kept looking over his shoulder to see if I was coming. He
looked so grown up wearing his backpack! I forgot to send his glasses with
him, but there was a lot to remember today: towel for nap time, wipes, tissues,
paper plates, snacks (popcorn, Pop Tarts, m&ms), forms filled out, lunch
money, toothbrush, comb, hand soap, change of clothes, and probably some other
things I'm not remembering at the moment. I'm glad we visited the
classroom yesterday after his appointment so he already knew Miss Kris. He
held her hand, and Miss Debbie sneaked hers in where mine had been with Matthew
on her other side, and they four walked into the school -- without fuss.
Mick was worn out by the time I brought him home. He took a
ninety-minute nap. And I had a good day, only once hearing phantom
footsteps from upstairs. It was weird to have so much uninterrupted time
to do laundry and other chores.
