Teacher Comments -- He had a fantastic day!

niknotes -- He was a little upset getting on the bus this morning when he found his driver was not "Miss Jan" who drove him this summer, even though I had tried to prepare him to meet "Miss Faye."  He kept saying "go see Miss Jan" over and over and climbed the bus stairs in a nervous or tentative manner, very unlike his usual joviality, bounding up with a "good morning" for the driver and a grin and a wave to me once he's seated.  He came home seeming a little tired but in a good mood otherwise, which I promptly ruined by redirecting him into the car to run all around Snellville, rather than allowing him to go "in Mick's house."  When we finally did come back home, he ran upstairs and grabbed his "Thomas blanket" (which is a Thomas the Tank Engine comforter! that Jennifer sent him) and played with his train set in the middle of the living room floor, with his blanket over him.  Miss Faye told me that he screamed on the morning ride but didn't cry.  He cries when his feelings are hurt.  Screams seem to indicate his displeasure (and discomfort) with a change or not getting to "go tunnel go ride the train" or maybe sometimes just to get attention.  He seems to have gotten over it arriving at school.  And he was fine on the afternoon ride, which was a great relief to Miss Faye, I'm sure. The screams are shrill and usually come without warning, no crescendo, just EEEEEEE!  But they are continuing to become more infrequent the more his ability to express himself improves, lessening his frustration and feelings of helplessness, it seems.  That's the good news.  And that he still seems to love school.  Precious boy.
