Thanks.
niknotes -- Mick had a wonderful time last night after
karate, playing in the tunnels at McDonald's. We were there for at least
two hours. I thought he would jump into bed when we got home, but he was
full of energy. His homework was to draw and label three things that begin
with A. He won't really draw anything except shapes and occasionally a
train (A train, A triangle? ha ha), so I just made dotted-line drawings
for him to trace and then dotted letters for the words, as well. But
I couldn't think of any good A words to draw. I came up with Airplane,
which Mick liked a lot, and then Ant and Apple, which he traced but which I felt
were cop-outs. I thought "Anachronism" was a little much, and I can't
imagine what my drawing of an "Artichoke" would look like. But Mick (who
had recited his entire Richard Scarry's Best ABC Video Ever, with each
letter and a thank you from Miss Honey in Mick's sweetest voice with a
little hug and a pat on the back) saved the day! With "Acorn" and
"Astronaut." Then he wanted a picture of a barn and continued down the
alphabet with camel, cake, and something which slips my mind at the moment,
before I put him to bed.
