Sean expects to leave Fort Bragg tomorrow, Wednesday, March
26. He says that they will load their sea bags, MREs, water,
ammunition, and other supplies onto a pallet this afternoon. He expects to
fly out with the supplies from the pallets on a military rather than commercial
flight. We are not allowed to know the actual launch time or
destination.
He does not yet have an APO address to give us. Even once
we know one, mail may still take several weeks to reach him, especially if
he's on the move. Hopefully, we will not have to wait weeks before being
given an APO address. I don't know how soon he'll be able to contact us
after he leaves Fort Bragg, if he will have access to e-mail or a phone or
even be able to get letters mailed out at first.
Eddie and Brian spent the weekend with Sean,
and he said it was not easy to say goodbye to them, but it was great to see
them. Eddie sent an e-mail out to the Dullaghan side of the family, but I
will copy it here for the benefit of the rest:
Greetings,
I just got home from Fayetteville. Brian,
Sean and I had an enjoyable couple of days together. He looks very fit
and has some very squared away gear. I met some of the troops, all very
nice and very fit. Sean and the other members of his group are ready to
go help out and are in good spirits. Some left today. Sounds
like it is pretty definite Sean will be leaving this Wednesday morning.
Can't really say where he is going or who he is with since I don't know except
to say he is with a special operations group. Rest
assured they will take very good care of each
other. Nikki will let us know his mailing address as soon as she
knows. This could take a few weeks or more. I know you are with me
when I pray for a speedy, safe and successful return for Sean, Joey and
all the troops. Well, Brian and I tag-teamed Sean pretty hard, giving
him lots of big hugs from everyone. Hope you are well. Keep in
touch. Love, Eddie
Sean has just called me back and is now on the line with
me, as a matter of fact. And when I told him I was writing a daily Sean
report, he wanted to know what his categories would be. "My emotions
today: ..." Sean has some suggestions for the choices there. Also,
he will try to let me know which MRE he eats for lunch each
day.
