Okay, I got
packages from you, you, you sneaky*, Mary Rose's church, Aunt Rosaleen, Mom, the
310th PsyOp, Pat, Cindy Buckner, and letters from Mary Rose, The Salmons, Eddie
Spaghetti, and 5 from you....
I'll
try to thank everyone individually, but tell everyone that (after I took my pick
first, 'cuz I'm selfish) we put everything together in one box except the
goodies, which had already been devoured by this time, and everyone fell upon
the box and within 15 minutes it was all gone. There were two ugly brawls, one
over the Large tube of Crest, and one over a CD of Louis Armstrong's greatest
hits.
OK, so THE
SURPRISE CAME!! What could be more wonderful? What seven
children were cuter? The letters with the picture were awesome. I
tried not to read them all at once, but I have no discipline and read them all,
rather than pace them out. Several other soldiers read them, too, and
loved them. I'll write to them when I can, but please let all Jack's
teachers know how absolutely wonderful that was, and how much I love that
picture, the frame it's in, and all the flag cards. Tell Mrs. Penoncello
that we ate the popcorn packing as we mulled over how to evenly divide the
spoils. Everything was fresh; everything was claimed by someone. I
just literally don't know what to say over such a beautiful and personal gift of
love, time, and talent.

address.]
Nicole's comments: Also, Sean
called on the phone, even though it wasn't his day. Somehow he got around
that. He said he just can't type fast enough to get in all he had to say
about the overwhelming "bounty" of today's mail call. Plus, he said he got
lots of wonderful e-mail, which he printed out but hasn't read all of yet.
He has already read Patrick's, and he was really touched by the
sentiment. So thank you to everyone for making Sean's
day!!!!
